6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?”
Prayer Focus: Jesus just told them they had to wait, but the disciples are still impatient. “Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?” After Jesus’ resurrection, a hope has been rekindled that Jesus is going to be a political king that restores the kingdom of David to Israel. Have you ever placed your hope in the wrong thing? The loss and disappointment can be crippling. Pray for those who are hoping for the wrong thing today. Pray that they might turn their eyes and their longing to the risen Jesus, who continues to rule after his resurrection with the same spirit that marked his earthly life.
