Wednesday, March 23: Scripture – 1 John 3:21-24
21 Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness before God;
22 and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him.
23 And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.
24 All who obey his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.
Prayer Focus: When you pray, do you pray with boldness? Do you make big requests of God? Or are you reluctant in your prayers, not really believing that God will answer your requests? We will receive from God whatever we ask – usually this is qualified by “if it is God’s will for us.” In 1 John our hearts are transformed by God’s love so that what we ask will be God’s will for us. Pray that you might be bold in your prayers today. Believe that God hears you and will answer you!
