6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
7 Peace be within your walls
and security within your towers.”
8 For the sake of my relatives and friends
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your good.
Prayer Focus: I am not sure there has ever been a time when it has been more important to pray for peace. In scripture peace or “Shalom” is far more than just the absence of violence or conflict. “Shalom” gathers up all aspects of wholeness. It is the gift of God that results in the flourishing of life, not just for some but for all people. Pray for peace for Jerusalem, for Gaza, for our community and nation. Give thanks for the ways that you find shalom in your life and ministry at Unity Presbyterian Church.
“Every time Jesus healed, forgave or called someone, we have a demonstration of shalom.” Peterson, 51
