Scripture – 1 Kings 3:9

9 Give your servant, therefore, an understanding mind to govern your people, able to discern between good and evil, for who can govern this great people of yours?”

Prayer Focus: Finally Solomon makes his request – he asks for an understanding mind to govern God’s people, the ability to discern between good and evil. This desire to discern between good and evil is what led Eve and Adam to eat the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden. They want to be like God. But here, the desire is for the wisdom to govern God’s people well. The intention is not self-centered, but focused on the care of others. Pray that you might be wise and that you might intend the well-being and care of others, particularly those most vulnerable, in all the decisions that you make today.
