Wednesday, June 1: Scripture – Acts 2:5-8
5 Now there were devout Jews from every people under heaven living in Jerusalem.
6 And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in the native language of each.
7 Amazed and astonished, they asked, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
8 And how is it that we hear, each of us, in our own native language?”
Prayer Focus: God speaks to us in our own languages. God speaks to each of us in a way that we will understand. Our human languages are not perfect. Each dialect sounds different and even when we speak the same language, we often misunderstand one another. But God is good at taking our imperfect, human efforts, and using them for God’s Holy purposes. Pray that you might hear God speaking to you today, and when you do, that you might listen.
