Wednesday, January 27: Scripture – Mark 1:25-26
25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” 26 And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
Prayer Focus: Jesus’ ministry of healing and confrontations with unclean spirits are an essential part of his ministry as recorded in the Gospel of Mark. It is not a stunt to get publicity or to prove his power. No, it is a sign of the inbreaking of God’s kingdom. It is an upheaval of the way things are and the powers of this world. It is the beginning of a new day. What signs do you see that God’s kingdom is breaking forth today? Give thanks to God for these glimpses of the kingdom today and pledge to join God’s good work.
