22 He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food and the body more than clothing. 24 Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!
Prayer Focus: We shift from the Song of Songs to what is known in the Gospel of Luke as “The Sermon on the Plain.” Sharing many illustrations with the Gospel of Matthew’s Sermon on the Mount, we hear Jesus’ familiar words, “Do not worry about your life.” I don’t know about you, but I know that whenever I tell myself not to worry – I seem to worry even more. Sometimes I worry about the fact that I am worrying! Pray that instead of worrying, you might consider the ravens, the birds of the air. God feeds them and God cares for you.
