Wednesday, August 17: Scripture – Mark 6:33-34
33 Now many saw them going and recognized them, and they hurried there on foot from all the towns and arrived ahead of them.
34 As he went ashore, he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.
Prayer Focus: The crowds see Jesus and the disciples going to spend some time away and they hurried to get there first. Instead of being angry that the crowd has disrupted his quiet time, Jesus has compassion on them. They are like sheep without a shepherd. And so instead of yelling at them, Jesus teaches them. Pray for the interruptions that you experience today. Pray that you might see them as needs to be met instead of distractions from your plans. The good shepherd is always there when you need him. Can you do the same for others?
