Wednesday, April 6: Scripture – Luke 19:32-34
32 So those who were sent departed and found it as he had told them.
33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
34 They said, “The Lord needs it.”
Prayer Focus: Over the years as I have read this text, I have generally focused on the two disciples who have been sent to fetch the colt. And yet, today, I’m trying to put myself in the place of the owners of the colt. They ask, just as Jesus said they would, “Why are you untying the colt?” Was this a pre-arranged signal or code phrase? Did they genuinely not know why these two strangers were untying their colt? In either case, they do not protest when they hear the response, “The Lord needs it.” Pray that you might be willing to let go of something you have tied down today. Pray that you might be willing to let someone else take this item or this burden or this gift today, for perhaps the Lord needs it.
