Wednesday, April 5: Scripture – John 12:35-36
35 Jesus said to them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going.
36 While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.” After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them.
Prayer Focus: Especially this week, we can be so certain of what Jesus wants from us that we just run ahead to Easter. But in the midst of Jesus’ final week of earthly life, here in the Gospel according to John, we find Jesus with a troubled heart and hiding from both his disciples and the crowds. I invite you to just sit with that for a while today. Let us not rush to a happy Sunday. Our Savior’s heart was troubled; he hid from them.
