Tuesday, October 10: Scripture – 1 John 1:6-7
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true;
7 but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Prayer Focus: Discerning and telling the truth should lead to fellowship with one another – not through the shared story that we tell, but through the cleansing and redeeming blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus is our truth and we are united in him. When we begin to say that the truth is “Jesus and …” no matter what the “and …” is, we find ourselves moving in dangerous directions. Pray that you might continue to discern and tell the truth about Jesus today and be intentional about ways that truth creates fellowship.
