Tuesday, November 1 – Hymn: For All the Saints
Prayer Focus: When I think of today’s hymn, which I hope we always sing on All Saints Day, I picture a grand and glorious arrangement with all the organ stops pulled, a full choir, and the congregation joining its voices in thanksgiving and praise. It is a vision of the glory that awaits the saints before the throne of the Lord when the Kingdom comes in its fullness. So, I was struck by this version with a single voice and simple arrangement. It gave me the sense of longing for, instead of expectation of, the saints in glory. What are you longing for today? For what can only you lift your voice in prayer or song today?
