4 I glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do. 5 So now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had in your presence before the world existed.
Prayer Focus: In his prayer, Jesus says that he has glorified the Father by finishing the work he had been given. So often we think that glory is earned or given for something extraordinary. But Jesus seems to connect glory with finishing the work. Jesus asks to be glorified not because he has accomplished the task, but that he might share the glory of the Father. Look at the tasks set before you today. Do not seek glory for what you will accomplish. Seek to give God the glory. But pray for perseverance and strength that you might finish the work given to you today.
