Scripture – John 4:7-10

7 A Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” 8 (His disciples had gone to the city to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask a drink of me, a woman of Samaria?” (Jews do not share things in common with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

Prayer Focus: A Samaritan woman comes to draw water while Jesus is sitting there. A lot of ink has been spilled about this woman coming to the well at noon, but that’s the setting of the story. And if she had come earlier or later, she would not have gotten a private audience with Jesus. As they go back and forth, Jesus tells the woman that really she should be asking him for living water. Spend some time with Jesus today – just the two of you. Ask for living water that might spring up from within you. Jesus is ready to hear your prayer.
