Tuesday, March 1: Scripture – 1 John 1:2-3
2 This life was revealed, and we have seen it and testify to it, and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us—
3 we declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
Prayer Focus: Many commentators suggest that 1 John was written more as a homily than a letter in response to a group that had separated from the church and threatened to draw still others away. So, right from the beginning the author declares the eternal life that has been revealed so that those who read this letter might have fellowship with us and with the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. The purpose is to draw believers together. We have known the last few years what it is like to be isolated from one another. What will you do today to deepen the fellowship of the church today? Pray that you might declare the eternal life that draws us together.
