Scripture – Matthew 18:24-25 –
24 “When he began the reckoning, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him, 25 and, as he could not pay, the lord ordered him to be sold, together with his wife and children and all his possessions and payment to be made.”
Prayer Focus: The slave owed great debt. When he could not pay, the lord ordered that he and his family, and all that he owned be sold to pay the debt. This may seem harsh to the reader, but scholars argue that this harsh reality allows this slave to finally understand the gravity of the debt he was in. It is as if the threat of this punishment was a mirror that was held up to him so he could finally see his mistakes clearly. Pray today that as you might see your mistakes clearly and understand the gravity of how others might be affected.
