3 A voice cries out: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.
5 Then the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all people shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Prayer Focus: Our hope is in the Lord who comes. The Lord is always on the way. In Isaiah 40, we find that the very creation is transformed to prepare the way of the Lord. A straight and level path is prepared. What do you see being transformed in preparation for the Lord’s coming? What uneven ground is being leveled? What rough places are being smoothed? Pray for those who prepare the way of the Lord. Pray for those who are hard at work to ensure that all shall see the glory of the Lord revealed.
