Tuesday, January 26: Scripture – Mark 1:23-24
23 Just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, 24 and he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.”
Prayer Focus: The man with the unclean spirit immediately identifies Jesus as the Holy One of God. The unclean spirit recognizes that Jesus and the power of God are a threat. We do not talk much about “unclean” spirits today. And yet, we must admit that there are things at work in this world contrary to the purposes of God and the kingdom of God. Pray that we might have the faith to recognize and name them so they will no longer have hold of us.
