Tuesday, January 17: Scripture – Acts 10:27-29
27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found that many had assembled,
28 and he said to them, “You yourselves know that it is improper for a Jew to associate with or to visit an outsider, but God has shown me that I should not call anyone profane or unclean.
29 So when I was sent for, I came without objection. Now may I ask why you sent for me?”
Prayer Focus: Peter knows that this visit to Cornelius’ home is highly unusual and potentially even unfaithful. However, Peter trusts the vision God provided him that he should not call anyone profane or unclean. We all have a list of “sinners” and “saints.” It is easy to fall into the trap of “us” vs. “them” We almost always find ourselves in the “saints” and “us” groups. Pray that you might be open to having those understandings challenged today. Pray that you might follow Christ wherever and to whomever God sends you today.
