Tuesday, February 21 : Scripture – Genesis 3:2-3
2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden,
3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, nor shall you touch it, or you shall die.’ ”
Prayer Focus: The woman is a great theologian, or someone who reflects upon and shares what God has said to us. She responds to the serpent’s question that they can eat of every tree except for one. And not only that, they are not allowed to touch that tree or they will die. That’s not exactly what God said either. But they cannot eat of the forbidden tree if they don’t touch it. So, the woman is already wise and extends the commands of the Lord in hopes of ensuring life. Pray for those who question and for those who seek answers today. Pray for those who are doing all they can to seek new life for our community and the world.
