11 He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him.
Prayer Focus: Jesus came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him. This is more like active rejection as opposed to just ignoring the presence of the light. It reminds me of Jesus’ encounter with the people of Nazareth when he begins his public ministry. Initially they are amazed, but when he starts to challenge their assumptions about the extent of God’s grace, they end up trying to throw him off a cliff. Pray that you might accept Jesus and the challenge he brings. For you are his own and you are loved.
