“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” Hebrews 11:1-3
These Scripture verses from Hebrews remind me of the strong faith from my maternal grandmother, Granny. She was a woman of strong faith, so strong you could see it in her face. Granny used to tell me Bible stories, and I always remember her sharing the Bible story about God creating the heavens and the earth. Her strong faith and sharing of stories influenced me to be strong in my faith today. My Granny’s faith was passed down to my mother as well, but she had a more gentle approach to sharing her faith. These two women introduced me to my own Christian faith and taught me to trust God. God created the heavens and earth with his own voice and breath. I hope that you trust in God’s power and that your faith remains confident as we read in Hebrews.
Prayer: Lord, keep us strong in our faith. We believe in your creation and in your coming to earth through Jesus and his birth. Help us to remain strong in our faith as we read the story of Jesus through his birth, life, and resurrection. Amen
