Tuesday, August 16: Scripture – Mark 6:31-32
31 He said to them, “Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.
32 And they went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.
Prayer Focus: At Asheville Youth Mission, our youth talked about food insecurity or the number of people who do not know where their next meal will come from. Our second text continues this theme with the Gospel of Mark’s telling of Jesus feeding the 5000. It begins with Jesus inviting the disciples to come away to a deserted place and rest a while. They were so busy that they had no time to eat. You need time to rest. Jesus invites you to get away, to stop and eat without your phone or other distractions. Pray for time to rest today.
