6 Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a boy.” 7 But the Lord said to me,
“Do not say, ‘I am only a boy,’
for you shall go to all to whom I send you,
and you shall speak whatever I command you.
8 Do not be afraid of them,
for I am with you to deliver you,
says the Lord.”
Prayer Focus: Jeremiah responds to God that he does not know how to speak, for he is only a boy. Youth are often told that they are the future of the church, but rarely do we recognize that they are the church today. The Lord says, don’t think you are too young because the Lord will be with you wherever you go and whatever words you speak. Trust that the Lord is with our youth this week as they prepare to lead us in worship on Sunday. Be eager for the word they will share from the Lord.
