13 For the Lord has chosen Zion;
he has desired it for his habitation:
14 “This is my resting place forever;
here I will reside, for I have desired it.
15 I will abundantly bless its provisions;
I will satisfy its poor with bread.
Prayer Focus: Some of you have heard me say, “God chooses particular people, to do particular things, at particular places, in particular times.” Our God does not remain distant from us in the heavens. God chooses to come down, to make God’s home among us. In Jesus Christ the Word became flesh and loved among us. God is active and involved in this world. God has chosen you to do a particular thing at a particular place in this particular time. Pray for the church and the faith to continue our Lenten journey.
“Biblical history is a good memory for what doesn’t work. It is also a good memory for what does work – like remembering what you put in the soup that made it taste so good so you can repeat and enjoy the recipe on another day, or remembering the shortcut through the city to the ocean that saved you from being tied up in traffic and got you to the beach two hours earlier.” Peterson, 161.
