Tuesday, April 26: Scripture – John 21:4-6
4 Just after daybreak, Jesus stood on the beach; but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
5 Jesus said to them, “Children, you have no fish, have you?” They answered him, “No.”
6 He said to them, “Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in because there were so many fish.
Prayer Focus: Jesus appears on the beach, just after daybreak. That sounds like the beginning of a post-resurrection appearance to me! The disciples had caught no fish until Jesus told them to cast the net to the right side of the boat. How tired they must have been to take fishing advice from a stranger standing on the shore. But when they do they find so many fish they cannot haul them all in. Do you think Jesus might appear to you today as a stranger with odd advice? Pray that you might be open to a surprising encounter with Jesus today.
