Thursday, September 14: Scripture – Acts 11:23-24
23 When he came and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast devotion,
24 for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were brought to the Lord.
Prayer Focus: Barnabas arrives in Antioch and sees the grace of God. He rejoices and exhorts them to remain faithful to the Lord. The writer of Acts celebrates Barnabas’ faith, goodness, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. Many are brought to the Lord because of Barnabas’ ministry in Antioch. Who provides the encouragement we see in Barnabas for you in your faith? Who exhorts you to remain faithful to the Lord? As you pray, give thanks to the Lord for the “Barnabas” in your life – and if possible, let them know of your gratitude.
