Thursday, September 1: Scripture Luke 14:31-32
31 Or what king, going out to wage war against another king, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand?
32 If he cannot, then while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for the terms of peace.
Prayer Focus: Jesus gives another example. This time instead of a builder building a tower, he uses a king going to wage war. The king examines the battlefield, the number of troops he possesses vs those of his enemy, and determines if victory is possible. If not, he seeks peace instead of war. Again, knowing the cost determines the best course of action. Pray that you are willing to pay the cost and find victory in the cross of Jesus.
