Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food or thirsty and gave you something to drink?
And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you or naked and gave you clothing?
And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?’
And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.’
Prayer Focus: The righteous know that they have been at work helping those with needs, but they never saw the Lord as one of those people. The Lord answers, “Just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” Look around today and see who is caring for those in need, especially those who do not know Christ. Christians are not the only people in the world who can do good things or care for the poor. In fact, when Christians become so focused on doing good works, they might be the first ones to miss when Christ is present. Pray for all those who care for those in need today. Pray for eyes to see Christ’s presence.
