Thursday, May 11: Scripture – Acts 17:22-23
22 Then Paul stood in front of the Areopagus and said, “Athenians, I see how extremely spiritual you are in every way.
23 For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription, ‘To an unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.
Prayer Focus: Paul begins to speak with the Athenians by establishing a connection. He sees how extremely spiritual they are and identifies multiple objects of worship throughout the city. And yet, he has found something missing. There is an altar “to an unknown god.” What they worship as unknown, Paul will proclaim to them. Pray that you might be open to someone filling in the gaps for you. That voice calling out to your spirit that you have not quite been able to fully express, listen again for the one who might help you understand today.
