Thursday, March 6th: Scripture – Psalm 120:5-7

5 Woe is me, that I am an alien in Meshech,

that I must live among the tents of Kedar.

6 Too long have I had my dwelling

    among those who hate peace.

7 I am for peace,

    but when I speak,

    they are for war.

Prayer Focus: Those who sing this song and pray this prayer recognize that they are called to be pilgrims on a journey toward peace, truth, and home. Living in the land of lies is like residing in a foreign land. And yet, to sing this song and pray this prayer is a call to even those lands to come along on this trip. No one is beyond the call of God’s grace and peace. Pray for those trapped in lies and deceit. Pray that they will hear this call and seek to join the journey toward the cross and resurrection with you.

“Repentance, the first word in Christian immigration, sets us on the way to traveling in the light. It is a rejection that is also an acceptance, a leaving that develops into an arriving, a no to the world that is a yes to God.” Peterson, 27.
