6 and in front of the throne there is something like a sea of glass, like crystal. Around the throne, and on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and back: 7 the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with a face like a human, and the fourth living creature like a flying eagle.
Prayer Focus: Usually the sea is a source and place of chaos in the stories of scripture. Think about how many storms there are, and how many people in the bible wrestle with violent seas. The sea represents the challenges believers face as they seek access to God. Now, here, the sea is as calm as glass, symbolizing God’s reign over all the chaos of the earth and over all those on earth who claim power. Pray this week that you might have the courage to face rough seas as you seek to follow Christ faithfully.
