Prayer Focus: The name of Jesus. The name the angel told Mary she was to name her child. The name that so many generations have come to know as God’s son. Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh, here at Christmas. As you celebrate this Christmas season, I wonder what the name Jesus means to you. Does Jesus feel like a friend, or someone who seems farther away from you? Is Jesus someone that gives you hope and comfort, or someone who still feels like a mystery to you? Wherever you are today, I hope that this Christmas Jesus might bring you hope, and that you might allow yourself to be surprised by the incredible gift of Christ in your life.
