Thursday, August 31: Scripture – Romans 12:14
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Prayer Focus: My typical response to those who disagree with me or who act inappropriately is to ignore them. I seek to distance myself from those who are struggling against me so I might focus my energies on positive things – at least as I see positive things. Paul encourages us to turn our face and our attention toward those who persecute us. And not just turn toward them, but ask God’s blessing to be upon them. Bless them, do not curse them. Can you do that today? Can you bless your enemy? Pray for the faith and the strength to bless far more than curse today.
