Thursday, April 7: Scripture – Luke 19:35-36
35 Then they brought it to Jesus; and after throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it.
36 As he rode along, people kept spreading their cloaks on the road.
Prayer Focus: Sometimes scripture is wonderfully descriptive. After these two disciples bring the colt to Jesus and throw their cloaks on the colt, “they set Jesus on it.” Jesus does not climb up onto the colt. Jesus does not jump on the colt from a platform. It does not even sound like they gave Jesus a hand while he mounted the colt. No, at least here in the Gospel of Luke, “They set Jesus on it.” Then as he rode along, others began to spread their cloaks on the road (but no mention of palm branches in this Gospel.) This seems to be all arranged ahead of time. Pray that you might trust the plan and the arrangements that Jesus has made for you today.
