Thursday, April 29: Scripture – Acts 8:32-34

32 Now the passage of the scripture that he was reading was this: “Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter, and like a lamb silent before its shearer, so he does not open his mouth.

33 In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken away from the earth.”

34 The eunuch asked Philip, “About whom, may I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?”

Prayer Focus: Who is the one like a sheep led to the slaughter? Who was denied justice and had his life taken away from the earth? This is the question of faith for us as Christians? For there are many who suffer at the hands of injustice. There are many who have no voice in the midst of their oppression. Only Christ has redeemed us through his suffering. Only Christ is the lamb who now sits on the throne. Pray that you might clearly see that the silent lamb is Jesus.
