24 But Thomas (who was called the Twin), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe.”
Prayer Focus: When Thomas, who had been out, returned the other disciples told him that they had seen the Lord. But he did not believe them and asked to see Christ’s wounds. Thomas has forever been cast as “Doubting Thomas” for this request. And yet, notice that he asks for nothing more than the other disciples received. The other disciples did not believe Mary Magdalene when she announced to them “I have seen the Lord.” When Jesus appeared to them, he showed them his hand and his side. Pray for those who are asking questions about their faith, for they truly seek to know Jesus. Rejoice that Christ comes to provide us what we need to believe, to give, and to serve.
