Prayer Focus: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Words whispered:
by slaves in Egypt,
by exiles in Babylon,
by African Americans on the Underground Railroad,
by Jews as they are herded into the gas chambers of Auschwitz,
by those working for justice and reconciliation,
by you and me in our deepest moments of need,
by our Lord and Savior from the cross.
Not words of abandonment, but words of solidarity and hope because God hears our prayers.
