Scripture – 1 Thessalonians 2:8

8 So deeply do we care for you that we are determined to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you have become very dear to us.

Prayer Focus: A seminary classmate who used to regularly read copies of my sermons after I had preached them once commented, “Matt, you often refer to the congregation as ‘my friends.’ I wonder if you might ever refer to them as ‘beloved’?” He encouraged me to make known, even in my preaching, how much I loved the congregations God has called me to serve. Give thanks today in your prayers for those you deeply care about. Give thanks for the opportunity to share not just the gospel of God, but also your very self. And know that you are most beloved to me.
