19 And I will show portents in the heaven above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and smoky mist.

and the moon to blood,
before the coming of the Lord’s great and glorious day.
21 Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
Prayer Focus: Peter continues with his quote from the prophet Joel to declare that when God pours out the Spirit, even the creation will be affected. Not just human creatures, but all creatures will see and know the Lord is on the way. Most importantly, notice that the opportunity to receive the Lord; to call upon the name of the Lord; to experience salvation, wholeness, and new life is not limited to a select few. Yesterday we heard that the Lord will pour out the Spirit “on all flesh.” Today, we are reminded that “everyone” who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. The gospel and the good news is for everyone – including you! Pray that you might so call and that you might so live today.
