Hymn- “Lord, You Give the Great Commission”
Today during 11:00 a.m. worship, we will celebrate and pray for our graduating high school seniors. Like the disciples in Acts 1, these young people stand at the crossroads between an ending and a beginning, as they are called out to be witnesses to Christ in the world. We will sing the hymn “Lord, You Give the Great Commission” as our sending hymn today, and I invite you to prayerfully reflect on the lyrics. May the last verse be our prayer for our high school seniors today. And may it be a prayer for us of us, as together, we prayerfully set out to do the work that God has called us to:
“Lord, you bless with words assuring: “I am with you to the end.”
Faith and hope and love restoring, may we serve as you intend
And amid the cares that claim us, hold in mind eternity.”
