Sunday, March 6: Scripture – 1 John 1:9-10
9 If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Prayer Focus: If we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we listen carefully to this verse, we find that we are promised forgiveness even before we confess. We do not confess in hopes that we will be forgiven. We confess our sins because we are assured that we will be forgiven. Because God loved us first, we can confess our sins with confidence that we are forgiven. Turn to the Lord today, receive an embrace of love, and find new life in Christ as you confess the ways you fall short. God has already put love into action – how will you do that today?
