Sunday, March 13: Scripture – 1 John 2:26-28
26 I write these things to you concerning those who would deceive you.
27 As for you, the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and so you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, abide in him.
28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he is revealed we may have confidence and not be put to shame before him at his coming.
Prayer Focus: John continues to encourage the people to “abide” in Christ. To abide is to stay, to take up residence, to commit a place, to put down roots, or to kick off one’s shoes and stay a while. Abiding in Christ should provide Christians with confidence. When Christ returns there is no need to fear because we have been with him all along. Pray for confidence today as you continue to put your love for Christ and one another in action.
