Sunday, June 26: Scripture – 1 Corinthians 12:1-3
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be ignorant.
2 You know that when you were gentiles you were enticed and led astray to idols that could not speak.
3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says “Let Jesus be cursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit.
Prayer Focus: For the final day of this week, we turn to Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, chapter 12. We normally know this as the chapter about spiritual gifts, but today we read just the initial verses. The first gift that Paul describes is the gift to declare that Jesus is Lord. This is a gift from the Holy Spirit. This is the tongue Paul wanted every Christian to have – a tongue to confess faith in Christ as Lord. Lift of your voice today, open your mouth, be empowered by the Spirit and declare that Jesus is Lord!
