Sunday, January 9: Scripture – Isaiah 43:6-7
6 I will say to the north, “Give them up,” and to the south, “Do not withhold; bring my sons from far away and my daughters from the end of the earth—
7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”
Prayer Focus: Not only does God know your name, you are called by God’s name. Perhaps you have heard before that the reason we baptize only using the first and middle name of the child is that in baptism we are adopted into a new family. In this new family, the family of God, we all share the same last name as children of God. Do not forget that you are created for God’s glory; it is God who formed and made you. Pray for the new officers of our church that they might also remember who and whose they are as they begin their service today.
