Saturday, September 17: Scripture – Luke 16:11-12
11 If, then, you have not been faithful with the dishonest wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?
12 And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to another, who will give you what is your own?
Prayer Focus: This parable does not offer us easy answers, instead, it challenges us to discern how we are living and using our resources. We are confronted with the reminder that what we do with our time, talent, and treasure directly affects the people around us. Jesus wants the disciples to live in a way that invests in the people around them rather than the riches of this world. If we are not being faithful with the wealth of this world, how is that directly affecting our neighbors and our communities? Pray this week that we might be faithful with our resources as a congregation so that we might participate in God’s good work in the world.
