9 Do not sweep me away with sinners
nor my life with the bloodthirsty,
10 those in whose hands are evil devices
and whose right hands are full of bribes.
Prayer Focus: So far in this psalm, the psalmist has appeared almost self-congratulatory; giving the impression: “Look at how faithful I am and have been.” Finally in these verses, we recognize that challenges remain and it is impossible to walk this way of faithfulness completely on our own accord. Pray that God will deliver you and enable you to remain faithful today. Know that your trust and your strength comes not from within, but from the grace of the Lord.
