Saturday, October 29: Scripture – Luke 19:8
8 Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much.”
Prayer Focus: In the midst of everyone grumbling, Zacchaeus makes an incredible pledge. Half of his possessions he is giving to the poor. On top of that if he has defrauded anyone of anything (and the assumption is that he certainly has done this) he will repay four times as much. Maybe this is possible because of Zacchaeus’ great wealth. Could you even imagine making such a pledge? What would count as generosity on your part? Pray that you might be truly generous today!
