10 And while they went to buy it, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went with him into the wedding banquet, and the door was shut.
11 Later the other young women came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’
12 But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I do not know you.’
Prayer Focus: The foolish go to buy more oil and by the time they get back the wedding banquet has begun, and the door is shut. The foolish call out to the Lord to open the door to them, but he replies that he does not know them. How is the kingdom of heaven like this? Since this is a parable, we should caution that Jesus is exactly like this bridegroom. Pray that all will be known by the Lord. Pray that the door will be open, and all will be welcomed in. Pray that this parable helps everyone prepare for the delay.
