Saturday, May 7: Scripture – Psalm 23:5
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Prayer Focus: Taste and see the goodness of the Lord, the psalmist says in another song. Here in Psalm 23 that becomes an invitation to a table in the presence of our enemies. Where there is enough oil to anoint one’s head and enough wine for one’s cup to overflow. The goodness of the Lord is not to be hoarded; it is to be shared. Pray that you might invite an enemy to become a friend at the table the Lord prepares for you both. Perhaps you are the enemy invited to sit at someone else’s table today. Pray that you might together know the goodness of the Lord.
